Engage

WHAT IS ENGAGE?

Engage offers cohort experiencesā€”dedicated spaces for learning and dialogueā€”where a consistent group of people journey together in processing life and faith.

WHY ENGAGE?

Engage exists to spark curiosity, creating opportunities for people to experience transformation through practicing being fully human in community and through this, seeks to disrupt societal patterns of polarization, distrust, and isolation.

We believe that true transformation happens when people engage in open-handed, non-coercive dialogue, grounded in the cruciform way of Jesus, as they journey together toward deeper faith and human flourishing.

HOW DOES ENGAGE PURSUE THIS?

Engage creates a transformational process in a structured environment utilizing robust content, open dialogue, and authentic friendship.

Robust Content

Thoughtful, challenging content is explored to address barriers in faith and help people get unstuck, sparking deeper curiosity about faith, each other, and what it means to be human.

Open Dialogue

Through intentional and structured time, we practice thoughtful dialogue, helping participants build the muscle to engage with emotional and difficult topics, growing in their ability to listen and respond with care.

Authentic Friendship

We cultivate Jesus-shaped connections, where people learn to value and care for one another in a non-judgmental community, not because they are alike, but because they are shaped by the way of Jesus.

who is it for?

Everyone is invited but Engage is for those who can make the relational commitment to the cohort, who can hold their convictions lightly and charitably, and who are open to exploring how putting Jesus at the centre makes a difference in how we think, live and speak individually and in community.

  • Here's a few quotes from people that have experienced Engage together:

"I found that the questions that were provided led to interesting dialogue in the small groups and it was a great chance to listen to other people's views. I also loved getting to learn with and grow closer to people at The Gathering Church that I have known for years but didn't know well."

"I found it valuable hearing other people share about doubts and questions they have, some of them for the first time in a group setting like this."

"Just the idea that an MB church would encourage folks to express their questions of faith without being judgmental was the most meaningful."

"I heard a lot of viewpoints Iā€™d never imagined or thought of myself. It challenged me to get out of my comfort zone every week."

"I feel more open to talk to other Engage members, The Gathering Church members or even friends about faith topics without being prompted or specifically in a church setting."

"The thing I valued most was learning to understand, agree, and disagree with each other in a loving way, regardless of age, experience, and worldview."

"What I valued the most was the freedom to wonder."
